Searching for the Viking Roots of Stockholm

The Viking Past of Sweden's Capital!

Stockholm is one of the four main capitals of Scandinavia and by far the most prestigeous and magical. Built on an archipelago of small islands, it is often called the ”Venice of the North”. But Stockholm is also the capital of collections and knowledge about the Viking past of Sweden. This tour is particularly focusing on Stockholm’s early history, spanning from the Viking period to the Renaissance. The trip also includes a guided tour of Stockholm and Uppsala’s archaeological treasures, such as the Silver Bible, the only evidence of a true gothic language that developed in the early medieval times. This tour is recommended for those who have a few days to spend in Stockholm and would like to acquire intensive knowledge of Scandinavian medieval history.
